Deanna Johnson to speak at the 2015 Kentucky SHRM Conference

We are pleased to announce that our Director of Compliance, Deanna Johnson, will be speaking at the 31st Annual Kentucky SHRM Conference. The Conference will take place September 23rd – September 25th at the Louisville Marriott Downtown.  

Deanna will be speaking at one of the breakout sessions on Thursday, September 24th at 3:45p.m.  She will be speaking on how to prepare for a Department of Labor Health and Welfare Plan audit. The presentation will include audit triggers, ACA compliance and how to mitigate risk before the DOL knocks.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest professional association devoted to human resource management.  The Society is the leading provider of resources available to serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of human resources management.

Deanna Johnson, Director of Compliance, Benefit Insurance Marketing 

Deanna has been in the employee benefits industry for 18+ years, serving both at a carrier and consultant level. She is a graduate of Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia and a licensed Life and Health Consultant in the State of Kentucky. Prior to joining Benefit Insurance Marketing in 2008, she was the Director of Client Services and Compliance Officer for Wells Fargo Insurance Services in Atlanta, GA, managing both health and retirement plans for clients ranging from 50-7,500 employees. Deanna’s primary focus is on employee benefits auditing and compliance. She has extensive experience in all areas of health and welfare benefit compliance, including but not limited to ERISA, 5500 preparation, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA and ACA. She is a Certified Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Professional by the National Association of Health Underwriters. In addition to being the Director of Compliance at Benefit Insurance Marketing, she is an officer on the Central Kentucky Association of Health Underwriters board.
