During this unprecedented time, Delta Dental of Kentucky will continue to pay claims for all members for which DDKY receives a premium payment. This would include any employees that have been furloughed or laid-off for up to a 90 day period. DDKY will not deny a claim for these employees during this 90 day period for members that are not a qualified participant under the employer’s benefit plan.
If premiums are not paid, DDKY would suspend coverage for 90 days (no premium collected) and claims would not be paid during this time. They would term the members in their system but keep the employer group active. After 90 days, they will reinstate coverage without having to restart the waiting periods as long as the premium is received. A request must be provided from the group to suspend coverage/billing, the following information should be provided:
- Group number:
- Group name:
- Effective date of suspension:
- Effective date to resume coverage (if known):
- Benefits have WPs (yes or no):
- If yes, which sub clients/contracts:
