Employee Spotlight: Melena Robinson - Bim Group

Employee Spotlight: Melena Robinson

Meet Melena, one of Bim Group’s Account Managers who has been with us for over 6 years! Read the short interview below to learn more about her!

Q: Could you briefly detail your work/education background?

A: I have been on the Bim Team since 2013 and I serve in the Select Group Unit as an Account Manager. I work with clients in the 10-50ish size group market on implementation of the new plans and renewal of existing plans including quoting, proposal preparation, billing and eligibility issues. I have years of experience in Healthcare Customer Service and Medical Billing. I studied at Sullivan University for Associate of Science in Medical Assisting and billing and coding prior to joining Bim Group, I worked in Healthcare assisting patients with their Medical Benefits for the past 12 years.

Q: What drew you to the employee benefits world?

A: Working in Healthcare being able to assist families on how benefits work was very rewarding so being able to expand my knowledge to employers of local businesses it all came full circle. Employee benefits can be very complex and difficult to understand being apart of Bim Group has given me the tools and continued education needed to be able to stay on top of all the changes in this fast paced business.

Q: What do you like most about working at Bim Group?

A: The core values “We not Me” Bring your Best, Handle the Tough Stuff, We care! Bim Group as a whole means this! We are family. We truly care about each other. Each and every one of us works so hard to do what is best for our clients.

Q: What do you want to accomplish this year?

A: My goal this year here at Bim Group is to continue to provide excellent customer service to all my clients and to be readily accessible to our small group employers whether it be a compliance audit or on-boarding a small group with limited HR resources.

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?

A: I am a very busy mom of 4 kids so there is not a lot of spare time. I spend a lot of time on a softball field with my daughter or in the gym watching my other daughter play volleyball. I am a “dog mom” also and adore my fur babies. I love the beach and taking country rides.

Bim Group is extremely proud to be a perennial winner of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky award. What makes this designation so special is that it is bestowed upon us by our own Rockstar employees. This monthly series individually spotlights one of our employees and gives you a glimpse of what it means to them to be a part of a “Best Places to Work” organization.
